3 Questions with Oncologist, Dr. Doug Arthur
Dr. Doug Arthur is the Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at VCU's Massey Cancer Center. Each day he represents Massey as a physician and researcher. But one of his favorite days of the year is the Monument Avenue 10k, where he puts on the yellow shirt and represents Massey alongside hundreds of survivors and supporters. "This community is exceptional in its support for our work. It's important to me to show that we are invested right alongside them. We're all in this together--that's what the 10k and the Massey Challenge means to me."
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be?
I would want to be a 6'7'' basketball player for the VCU Rams that characteristically ends every game with a game winning windmill dunk - unrealistic, but you did ask want I wanted to be.
What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
Relax pal, life is good.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Family, Beach, Sunset and a splash of bourbon.
