Final Touches With Nomadic Trading Co.
Several elements went into the redesign of our showroom. We incorporated barn wood from our CEO’s, Paul Trible, centuries-old family farm and minimal mid-century modern furniture to help fill out the space. The interior design of the showroom began to take shape when these two elements were in place but needed one final component to bring it all together. The finishing touch came when we brought in the over dyed rugs from Nomadic Trading Co.
We learned of Nomadic Trading Co. through Wendy Umanoff who we worked with on our lighting fixtures slightly over a year ago. Nomadic Trading Co. is based out of Durham, North Carolina and they have a remarkable process of taking handcrafted vintage Turkish carpets, stripping them of their original color, and then over-dying the fabric with a brighter more saturated color. The result is one-of-a-kind and the broken-in aesthetic was exactly what we were looking for.
Our goal was to create an environment that was both comfortable and inviting. We used three red rugs to subtly pick up on the tones of the wood and contrast the freshly painted white floors. The staff at Nomadic Trading Co. was great to work with and we couldn’t have been happier to have them included in the process of redesigning our showroom.
